All of Artwork Projects are executive produced by Barbara Hogue. Her wide-ranging work experience has taken her to far-flung locales such as New York, London, Berlin, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Paris, Ljubljana, and Vienna.
In 2006, she launched, ARTwork, based in Philadelphia. She has produced several Off-Broadway plays (including three Obie Award-winners); managed theatrical productions in twenty-five countries; and raised millions of dollars for arts organizations.
She curated the acclaimed Richmond Dance Festival in London featuring performances by Jonzi D, Nigel Charnock and Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company and a lecture by legendary avant-garde filmmaker, Peter Greenaway. Additionally she programmed the Richmond Literature Festival featuring some of today’s most fascinating authors such as award-winning poet UA Fanthorpe and Tom Avery, the youngest Briton to reach the South Pole.
She has worked with high-profile artists such as Merce Cunningham, Meredith Monk and Ping Chong, but also has an eye for developing young talent and has produced or consulted with a number of younger artists and collectives such as Richard Maxwell, Cynthia Hopkins, Young Jean Lee, Radiohole, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Big Dance Theater and Miro Dance Theatre. Together these artists have won some of the most prestigious performance honors including: Obies, Bessies, Guggenheim Awards, among others.
She has held the position of Director of Development for many acclaimed arts organizations including Meredith Monk / The House Foundation for the Arts, Performance Space 122 and the Philadelphia LiveArts Festival and Philly Fringe.
As well as being a seasoned fundraiser and curator, her producing activities include organizing several benefits, galas, art auctions, special events and symposia. Galas and Benefits that she has produced have featured luminaries such as Holly Hunter, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Garrison Keillor, David Byrne of the Talking Heads, Alan Rickman, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Robert Rauschenberg, Twyla Tharp, Beverly Sills and MOMA’s Robert Storr.
She has conducted grant writing workshops on behalf of the Alliance of Resident Theaters in New York and was invited by the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative to share her knowledge of the touring world with Philadelphia based artists. She has also been a guest lecturer at New York University and for the New York Fringe Festival.
